We could all use more hydration in a way that doesn't break the bank. Making your own electrolyte mix is a great way to save money while also ensuring your body gets the nutrients it needs.
what makes this recipe better? It contains no natural flavors, added sugars, no hidden ingredients, and is way easier on your wallet than buying packets. It also contains a natural source of vitamin C, which is essential for magnesium absorption!
This is a great adrenal cocktail mix to support your adrenals or to add to your water to help you beat that afternoon slump.
Recipe:
Makes 40 servings
6 Tbsp + 2 tsp of quality sea salt
1 Tbsp + 2 tsp of potassium chloride
3 Tbsp + 1 tsp of magnesium malate
6 Tbsp of acerola cherry powder
Measure out each powder, adding it to a jar with a lid
Mix well until all ingredients are combined
Add a shallow 1/2 tsp to at least 16 oz of water or your drink of choice (I do not recommend coffee or tea because the acerola cherry does have a citrusy flavor, but it could work great in juice or coconut water)
Enjoy!
Each serving packs approximately:
1/2 tsp per serving
600 mg of sodium
162.5 mg of potassium
100 mg of magnesium
25 mg of vitamin C
Drink once to twice per day or after strenuous activity. As always, consult with your doctor if you have any conditions that may be affected by consuming potassium, magnesium, or sodium in higher amounts.
